When Jim Mininni's lung cancer came back for the third time, doctors only gave him a 10% survival rate. But he continued on for four more years. A week before he passed away, he was admitted to the ICU for some breathing issues. But the next day, his wife Cindy suffered a heart attack and was taken to the ICU in a hospital in another city.

At first their son, Chris, was driving back and forth between the two. His request to have his mom transferred into the same hospital as his dad was denied. But soon Jim's condition worsened, and doctors found a large tumor blocking his airway. Doctors quickly stepped in and had Cindy transferred. Although she was unconscious, Jim held her hand and stayed that way until his body began to fail and he had to be returned to his room.

A few hours later, Jim passed away. Cindy did recover, and though she wasn't aware of her husband's passing until after she awoke, she will have the photos of their last moments together to treasure.
