Elon Musk Speaks On Johnny Depp And Amber Heard Defamation Trial For The First Time

Elon Musk has finally shared his thoughts on the infamous Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation trial.

Depp is suing his ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million in a defamation trial over a 2018 op-ed that the Aquaman actress wrote in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic violence.

The legal teams of both sides presented their closing arguments on Friday and now the final verdict lies with the jury.

During the trial, names like Elon Musk and James Franco were also discussed in the courtroom after Depp accused them of having an affair with Heard while they were still married.

Tesla owner, Musk managed to avoid the witness stand despite rumors he would be called to testify, Elon Musk has now taken to Twitter to make his feelings known.

Musk was linked to Heard after the actress's split from Depp and Musk's split from wife Talulah Riley. The timeline is still not matched but it is confirmed that the duo dated for one year, up until August 2017.

It was initially believed that both Elon Musk and James Franco will take the witness stand but later confirmed that neither of them would take the stand.

Now, responding to a tweet from podcast host and MIT scientist Lex Fridman, who shared his own takeaways from the highly-publicised trial, the world's richest man shared a few thoughts on the matter, since Heard and Depp's legal teams both rested their cases and the jury adjourned to deliberate.

Fridman tweeted: "My takeaways from Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial:

"1. Fame is one hell of a drug (for some).

"2. Psychiatrists & lawyers come in drastically varying levels of skill.

"3. Lying to millions of people is something humans are capable of.

"4. Love can be messy.

"5. Mega pint of wine."

As compared to his usual lighthearted and meme-filled response, the Tesla owner earnestly wrote in response: "I hope they both move on. At their best, they are each incredible."
