Eve Barlow was one of the most outspoken defendants of Amber Heard during the famous Depp-Heard defamation trial.

The polarizing trial, which resulted in Depp’s favour questioned whether or not Depp had or had not been abusive during their marriage.

Since the closure of the trial, however, Barlow has started receiving online abuse with regard to her support of Amber Heard and criticism of Johnny Depp.

Daily Record

Barlow who firmly believes in Amber Heard’s version of events tweeted,

"Whatever I post attracts 1000s of comments calling me ugly, misgendering me, accusing me of profiteering, lying and gold-digging, telling me I deserve to be beaten and/or raped, wishing death upon me, my family & friends. Depp has never once told his fans to stop being abusive."

"The main gripe they seem to have, however, is that we keep posting. That's the harm. They want us to shut up. They want us to not speak. They want to take away our voice. This trial might be the first to be determined by social media. A true failure of justice."

Many have since either come to Depp’s defence after she accused him of not stepping forward or calling out his fans or to clarify that those doing so were not actually fans but extremists.

One said: "A) how you know its Depp Fans B) how do you cope reading 1000s‘ of messages a day? C) haven‘t seen @realamberheard telling her „fans“ stopping needless attacks. So serious question: why is it only 1 side that needs to behave? Should being civil not be a commun goal? @Eve_Barlow" [sic]

Another denounced them as fans while saying that this was a response to Heard's alleged lying.

"@Eve_Barlow These are extremists NOT fans. Just as I’m sure those attacking Depp aren’t Amber’s responsibility (exactly why she’s not told them to stop). The response to #DeppvHeard and the evidence of Heard abusing Depp and lying about being a victim has upset millions of people." [sic]

Barlow had also previously called out people making memes of Heard’s testimony on TikTok, branding it TikTok abuse

She said in a tweet: "Listen, anyone protecting the TikTok abuse of Amber Heard is acting in bad faith. You can't argue that it doesn’t have a chilling effect on survivors from coming forward. Anyone actively mocking testimony about abuse is contributing to that silencing. Period."

Barlow had in fact been so zealous in her support of Heard, that she had not only been inseparable from her but also showed up to court proceedings until she was thrown out of the courtroom by Judge Penny Azacarate for misusing her phone.

Only the Depp and Heard legal teams had permission to use their cellular devices during the hearings and Barlow had broken the rules of courtroom conduct.

"She was tweeting live from my courtroom… and I know the deputies took her out because she was texting. That’s against the court order. Ms. Barlow is not coming back into the courtroom during this trial.”

Another source said that she had been placed there by Amber Heard. “Amber had her closest journalist friend sit front and center — with her legal team — at the trial, live-tweeting, texting, and posting information. Eve Barlow seems to think she’s part of Amber’s legal team. Depp’s lawyers finally had enough and had her barred from the courtroom."
