Brendan Langley, an ex-NFL player, was detained and charged with simple assault, according to cops. Langley was a third-round choice in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Lamar University... and is now a member of the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.
Ex-NFL Star Arrested After Beating Up United Airlines Employee
According to a United spokesperson, the employee was fired as a result of the incident.
Despite the passenger's assertion that he didn't throw the initial punch, law enforcement says the passenger was arrested, not the employee.
According to witnesses, the two began arguing before pushing, slapping, and hitting each other.
The video begins in the middle of a confrontation when the employee appears to push the passenger, who then slaps the employee in the face, and chaos ensues.
The two square off, and the passenger delivers punch after punch... and the punches certainly strike.
The employee eventually collapses behind the counter and has difficulties getting up and steadying himself.
The most bizarre thing is that the employee is dizzy and bloodied, but he returns for more, and the video finishes there.
The fight began with shoving before the two began punching each other. The UA man was squared up with fists raised after Langley landed a few strikes. When Langley turned away, the airline employee lashed at him, striking him in the face. Langley appeared to become enraged at this point.
"I don't start shit, I finish it," he said as he landed a couple of rapid punches before knocking the airline employee over and walking away. The United Airlines employee BACKED UP at that point. He came back up to Langley, blood streaming down his face, and he was repeatedly asked, "You want more?"
Other than Langley's detention, no other information has been revealed - despite Langley's accusations that the employee assaulted him, the United Airlines employee has not been charged.
