Video of a horrifying Ataturk park's fairground ride crash is circulating on social media after it shows passengers stuck on the ride as it malfunctions with frightened people trying to free themselves before the ride crashed on the ground leaving them upside down in the air.
Horrifying footage filmed at an amusement park in Ataturk Park, in the district of Muratpasa in the south-western Turkish province of Antalya, shows a frightening moment when a fairground ride broke and came crashing to the ground with multiple riders on board.
The video shows moments before the ride crashed and people are seen enjoying the swinging pendulum before it malfunctioned followed by horrifying screams.
In the clip, riders - including children - could be seen flying back and forth before a huge crash sounded and chaos broke out, with members of the public running over to where the seat section of the ride had fallen to the ground.
The swinging ride was filled with people and it seems like one of its arms broke and it landed upside down, thus, leaving the people trapped behind the restraints.
As the ride begins to malfunction, people are seen shouting in panic as they try to free themselves before it crashes and it is incredible to note that no fatal case was reported.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to help free the children from the seats, with images showing them left hanging with their feet in the air.
As people are freed from the upside-down ride, they are immediately checked by first aid providers.
Other images from the park show one rider being carried away on a stretcher by paramedics, with what appears to be a neck brace wrapped around his throat.
Three children, identified as 11-year-olds Mete Atik, Yakip Bilal Salarvan and Bugra Yagiz Koyun, were found to have been injured as the seats detached from the metal arm of the ride. All three were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Talking to local media following the incident, Bugra expressed belief a 'cable or something broke' while the riders were swinging on the ride.
"The ride flew through the air and landed upside down. I hit my head and I also have bruising on my foot," he continued.
According to Trip Advisor, Ataturk Park is one of the top 30 attractions of Antalya, with a description dubbing it a 'wonderful park, huge, clean [and] perfect for a relaxing walk with marvelous views over the Mediterranean'.
The beautiful park has many fairground attractions, with one reviewer describing how their children 'enjoyed the play areas while the grown ups enjoyed a coffee'.
