After receiving an anonymous tip to Terrell-Hannah's TikTok account, which has more than 149,000 followers and 1.6 million likes, the FBI launched an investigation into the man and later confirmed that the Nike shoes that were observed in the robbery videos are the same as Terrell is wearing in his TikTok dance videos.
Chozen Terrell-Hannah, a famous TikTok star in the US has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in four robberies over 3 months.
As per The Detroit News, Terrell was taken into custody after authorities observed a running theme in the crime scenes.
According to the FBI, the 22-year old was seen dancing in a TikTok video 'in what investigators described as his stick-up shoes'.
Officers noticed his white Nike shoes with red spots and confirmed that these were the same shoes seen at one of the robbery locations.
Police reports reveal that the four robberies were committed in Detroit and Complex states and a similar pattern and style was followed in all the robberies.
The first robbery happened last year in December at a Commerce Township 7-Eleven.
Police revealed the description of the suspect and shared that he was wearing 'black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, a black ski mask, and white shoes, and carrying a black backpack decorated with pink flowers', according to The Detroit News.
The suspect was carrying a handgun during all the robberies.
And the similar style of robberies was committed on January 13, 26, and February 1.
During the January 26 incident, an FBI task force officer explained: "The clerk initially refused but complied after the subject pulled back the slide of the gun in a motion of chambering a round and ejected a round onto the counter.
"This round, which was recovered later, was .40 caliber."
Following the investigation, the FBI official received an anonymous tipoff to Terrell-Hannah's TikTok account, which has more than 149,000 followers and 1.6 million likes, and they launched an investigation into the man.
Later authorities confirmed that they found their suspect and then matched witness reports with Terrell-Hannah's physical characteristics.
The FBI task force officer said: “Based on my training and experience, I believe due to [Terrell-Hannah’s] light complexion, the victims of armed robberies, observing him under the circumstances and wearing the clothing described above, could describe him as either white or black.
"These shoes are similar in appearance to the shoes worn in the above referenced armed robberies.”
Once confirmed of their suspicions, police set up surveillance outside the TikToker's house.
Finding the right time, police eventually pounced and raided the home. Inside, they said they found 'items believed to be used in the armed robberies.'
During their interrogation with Terrell-Hannah, he 'admitted to committing all four of the above-described armed robberies'.
He's been charged with robbery affecting interstate commerce and possessing a firearm during a violent crime.
According to Complex, the 22-year old TikToker now faces 20 years behind prison bars.
