Bodycam footage has captured a rare glimpse inside the mysterious Area 51, a place that's been at the heart of countless conspiracy theories for decades.

This top-secret military base, buried deep in the Nevada desert, remained officially unacknowledged by the government until 2013.

Since then, it has become synonymous with UFO sightings, alien research, and all things extraterrestrial.

Recently, two enthusiasts in the U.S. got closer to Area 51 than most ever have.

The YouTube channel EWU Bodycam shared the moment when these two individuals were fined $640 for venturing too close to the restricted area.

For the first time, viewers were able to see bodycam footage from within Area 51's sandy perimeter, as the pair was apprehended.

In the footage, a police officer tells the couple, "I mean, yes, I've been on this road before, you're about the deepest that anybody's ever gotten."

One of them replies, "Honestly, we got really nervous at this distance."

The incident occurred in late August 2022 when a Lincoln County Nevada Deputy was dispatched to a restricted area near Area 51 following a report of trespassing.

As the officer approached the couple, he read them their rights and detained them for trespassing. The man, however, was upfront about their situation.

He explained, "I'll stay honest with you, we're driving, we stopped in the cafe, we bought some souvenirs, I asked the guy 'hey, can you see the gate?'"

After getting directions, they realized they were lost.

The man added, "Honestly, we've got to that water area where it looks like there should be cows there,"

"We were like okay, we should not be taking a car here and at that point we were looking for a place to turn around."

Viewers were impressed by the respectful communication between the officer and the trespassers.

The pair was issued a citation for trespassing on a military installation in Lincoln County and were given a court date, though they did not have to appear if they paid the fine.

In the comments, some viewers felt the couple got off easy.

One person remarked, "I bet that cop was ecstatic when he got the call that he’d be going into Area 51."

Another noted, "The level of respect and civility between all parties is amazing. The professionalism is a credit to the police officer, and the security is to be commended."

"Great interaction, polite and kind conversation, understanding from both parties. Couldn’t have gone better," wrote another commenter.

Someone else added, "That has to be the kindest, most gentlemanly police officer ever. I congratulate him for his demeanor!"
