The Assailant

Ugandi Howard, 44, of Las Vegas attacked Flava Flav in a Las Vegas Casino is now facing misdemeanor battery charges. The accused previously served time in prison for involuntary manslaughter and was released in 2005. He clearly has anger issues.

William Jonathan Drayton Jr.

58-year-old Flava Flav, whose real name is William Jonathan Drayton Jr., was taken straight to a hospital after the altercation with Howard at the South Point Casino. Someone managed to catch a video of the incident that was recently aired by TMZ. It shows the rapper being punched over and over again by Howard.

What did you say about my mama?

Howard accused Flava Flav of disrespecting his mother which compelled him to confront the rapper. Flav's lawyer, Kristina Wildeveld, called the brawl an unfortunate event and doubts that Flav was the one to instigate the fight.

Not Flava Flav

Wildeveld says that Flav was a regular at this casino-hotel located on Las Vegas Boulevard and that he had nothing to do with starting the fight. She says that Flav is "very open and gregarious". She was adamant that Flav would not do anything to cause ill will towards his fans.

You can check out the video of the altercation here.

He is no angel.

Flav is best known for his quirky fashion sense and the giant clock that he wears around his neck. He was part of the hip-hop ground Public Enemy which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in 2013. He has also been named in several criminal cases in the past. One of those cases includes a felony batter involving his adolescent son from his longtime girlfriend. That case got closed in 2014 after Flav completed domestic violence counseling.

Trouble seems to find him.

Flav was also caught driving under the influence in Las Vegas and paid a fine after pleading guilty in 2016. He also acknowledged that he had some marijuana residue while he was driving. He also got stopped in January 2014 for speeding while on his way to his mother's funeral. He had to pay a $3,600 fine for driving without a license.

While it seems that trouble seems to find Flava Flav, he seems to us as more of a goof instead of a criminal. As far as the fight goes, we really do not know a whole lot more as the video only caught part of the altercation and not the moments leading up to it. You decide. Do you think he might have deserved this beat down, or was Howard just crazy and out of control?
