Florida Woman Faces Charges For Beating Husband Who Wouldn't Stop Farting In Bed

A Port St Lucie, Florida woman faces a battery charge for allegedly assaulting her husband, who wouldn't stop passing gas in bed. Officers responded to a domestic battery call at the home of Donald Fitzroy Meikle and his wife Dawn about 3:30 AM. on Dec. 11.

Donald Fitzroy Meikle told police that his wife, Dawn, elbowed him on the arm when he passed gas in bed. However, he could not stop passing gas, and that's when the 55 year old Dawn began kicking and beating on her husband. Meikle said she eventually kicked him out of bed because his flatulence wouldn't stop.

But after clearing the air literally The victim said his wife let him back into bed. He passed gas once again, according to the report, and she started to kick and elbow him again. This time she was violent, and was pounding on his chest and arms, trying to get him to leave the bed for good. So he had to restrain her for his own safety, by pinning her down to the bed.

Police report that during the struggle Mr Meikle had several bruises to his chest and legs, as well as a bruised eye, while Mrs Meikle had a swollen upper lip and a few scratches to her arms.

Donald finally let go of his wife, who ran to the bathroom and locked the door. She dialed 911 on her cell phone, and police were dispatched to the home. He told police the story and explained that during the struggle he inadvertently split open her upper lip, but it was in his own defense. Dawn confirmed her husband's statement and admitted to elbowing and kicking at him 'several' times, police reported.

Because she admitted to the abuse and the entire story, police arrested Dawn Meikle for domestic battery and took her to the St. Lucie County jail in handcuffs. She says now that she would do the same thing all over again because "nobody should have to suffer that stinky odor when trying to get some sleep."
