#1 Acting Ignorant

Former professional boxer, Floyd Mayweather has been convicted in the past for domestic abuse and have served 87-day jail term for it. It seems like the past lessons have not taught the boxer anything and he continues to live his life in ignorance. While giving an interview to Men's Health Magazine, the reporter asked Mayweather about his take on the #metoo campaign. Mayweather, acting like an ignorant person made it quite clear to the reporter that he does not understand what the reporter is saying.

#2 Distasteful Joke!

The reporter further explained to Mayweather, "The #MeToo movement. Women speaking out about sexual assault." Finally getting the point Mayweather then continues to make a rather offending joke about the movement and tastelessly compares it to unmeaningful things, clearly mocking the efforts of all the women who came forward for justice against gender discrimination and sexual harassment.

"Oh. ’Cause when you say “me too,” my thing was this. When somebody be like, ‘I got a Rolls Royce,’ I be like ‘Me too!’ When somebody say they got a private jet, I say, ‘Me too. I got two. Me too!'” When the interviewer tried to interject, he further added, "Well, I didn't know! My Me Too movement from the beginning was whenever somebody said what they have I'm like, ‘me too.’ Somebody say they got a billion dollars, I say, ‘I made a billion dollars, me too.’"

#3 Fighting In The Patriarchal Society

Mayweather's rather carefree and mocking attitude is the reason women hesitate to come forward and fight for their rights, knowing they will be mocked and their opinion will be cast aside. Men like Mayweather makes it difficult for women to fight in this patriarchal society and their ignorance is one of the root cause of gender discrimination.

#4 Blasted On Twitter

Following his hypocrite answer to the magazine, Mayweather was blasted on Twitter for his crude behaviour and people called out the boxer for acting so ignorant. While considering his past people also said that to expect anything from Mayweather in this stance is clearly absurd and following his reputation few people also linked the boxer to the #Metoo movement as one of the cause.

#5 Men Like Mayweather Are The Reason, #Metoo Campaign Exists In The First Place!

One user tweeted, "How on gods earth anyone ever expected Floyd Mayweather to give any sort of respectable response to #MeToo is baffling. His views towards women are foul. Have always been. He sees them like he see's everything in this life. A commodity. An acquisition. To be purchased." While another one commented, "Floyd Mayweather's thoughts about #MeToo are about as dumb as I expected but probably less offensive than expected."

Many people replied sarcastically to Mayweather's offensive comments, "Convicted woman beater Floyd Mayweather thinks the #MeToo movement to stop violence against women is actually when somebody says they have a private jet and Mayweather responds with, 'Me too.'"
