Former British street dance troupe member and the star of Strictly Come Dancing and The X factor, Robert Anker 27, was involved in a car crash in Canada and according to the family, succumbed to his injuries and has died following the accident, when his car collided with a pick-up truck in Ontario.

Anker was the founding member of street dance group named "Diversity." It was a London based group and they were best known for winning the 3rd series of Britain's Got Talent in 2009, beating Scottish singer Susan Boyle to the £100,000 first prize.
After hearing the sad demise of Robert Anker, Boyle on her Twitter account wrote, “Wow what a sad day! Another life gone too soon. My thoughts are with your wife, your family and your friends. RIP Rob Anker.”

Anker was also a part of "Thriller," before he moved to Canada to marry his fiance Cyndi. The couple got married in September last year in a lovely wedding and were planning their life ahead when they got struck with the tragedy.
Anker recently flew out to Cape Town to be involved in the latest ‘Bring It On’ film and has also appeared in music videos with Paloma Faith and Peter Andre.

Anker's cousin Rochelle Hanson has set up a Just Giving page to help the family to reach Canada to make arrangments for their son's funeral. On her social media account, she posted, "The family are devastated. We are raising funds for his family to be able to cover all costs for their trip to go and arrange his funeral in Canada. We would love to ensure that his family don't worry or stress about money at this time.”

Choreographer Dean Lee, wrote online, “Rob Anker, I have no words to speak after hearing of your passing. This is truly heart breaking. Thanks for the memories. Shine bright.”

The members of the Diversity group also paid tribute to him during their Friday night performance, which was dedicated to Robert Anker and wrote on their Twitter account, "A former member of our group has tragically passed away. He inspired so many with his talent and was taken far too soon."

A foreign office spokesman said, “We are aware of the death of a British man in Canada. We are providing assistance to his family at this sad time.”
