Four Year Old Zip-Tied To Bed And Abused Tells Police Her Name Is 'Idiot'

#1 This Four-Year-Old Girl Told Police That Her Mom's Boyfriend Beat Her

A horrible news story is coming out of Arkansas. A four-year-old girl told police that her mom's boyfriend beat her and even zip-tied her to a bed. She was found with cuts all over her, a bruised eye, and marks on her wrists that confirm her story.

#2 Mother And Boyfriend Charged

Jennifer Diane Denen, 30 and her live-in boyfriend Clarence Eugene Reed, 47, of Hot Springs, were arrested on suspicion of domestic battery, permitting the abuse of a minor and endangering the welfare of a minor.

#3 The Girl Told Police Her Name Was 'Idiot'

When the police asked for her name, she said something heartbreaking. She said her name was 'Idiot' because that was what she had been called for most of her life. Her mother, Jennifer Denen, admitted that is what she was called, but only as a "joke".

#4 Her Boyfriend Faces Several Charges

Denen told police when brought in for questions that she had seen Reed hit the child on the behind with a plastic bat. She said that she did not seek medical attention for the young girl's injuries at any point.

Reed meanwhile admitted that he hit the four-year-old girl with a wooden paddle and admitted to zip-tying her to the bed after he found her climbing into the cupboards in their home. But the examination of the girl also found that she appeared to be malnourished.

#5 Girl Examined By Professionals At Child Advocacy Center

The beaten little girl also had ligature marks on her wrist from when she was reportedly tied to the bed and a chair in the home. The four-year-old child was examined by Arkansas Department of Human Services workers and spoke with police at the Cooper-Anthony Mercy Child Advocacy Center. One of her siblings was present at the examination and confirmed that the girl was beaten and called names by both the mother and Reed.

Hospital records show that the child had deep purple bruising on her bottom, lower back and legs along with a black eye, swollen right cheek, a bruise on her forehead, healing scars across her back and dried up blood in the corner of her mouth.

#6 She Has Six Kids

This terrible mother has five other children. The whole family is going to have to be split up, according to police officials. Hot Springs police spokesman Cpl. Kirk Zaner told The Washington Post that there were a total of six children who lived at the house. Another 11-month-old was also with protective services and four other siblings were with their biological father.

#7 Facing 32 Years In Prison

Denin and Reed are both being held on $500,000 bond and are due back in court on the charges. The Arkansas Department of Child Welfare told reporters that they had never seen such a blatant case of neglect and abuse, and Denin told the agency that she "didn't think it was that bad." Both Reed and Denen face up to 32 years behind bars if convicted on all three counts.
