A recent upload video on youtube has gone viral after it shows a delivery driver getting upset with the customer for giving only $8 and furiously leaving the site with food.
The video was filmed by the doorbell camera which shows the driver telling that she traveled for 40 minutes to get to this New York address.
As the woman finally got to the address, the customer thanked her and asked her to leave the food on the door. It was at this moment that the woman asked that she needs to speak to the customer, wanting to speak to him face to face asking for the tip, having traveled such a long distance.
The customer asks her what she means, to which she replies, "I don't think you realize where this has come from so I need to speak to you."
The customer then proceeds to tell her that it only takes 15-20 minutes to deliver from the place where he ordered.
She responded: "It's not. You need to try and drive it.
"I just drove it, it's 40 minutes. It's 12 and a half miles. So I don't think you realise how far it is."
The woman then tells the customer to adjust his tip to which he asks how much tipped and she replies that $8. The man, at this point laughing, asked: "What the hell are you looking for? I gave an $8 tip."
Furious with his response, the woman says that she will take the food back and then picks up the bag and leaves.
The video was uploaded on Youtube where it went viral and when shared on Reddit it left many people confused.
One person wrote: "Wasn't expecting to hear the name of the town I live in mentioned in this. Commack is literally the next town over from Smithtown and is in no way, shape, or form a 40 minute drive even in the worst of traffic. Maybe if you're traveling by rickshaw, but certainly not by car. It's 15 minutes TOPS."
Another commented: "Drivers know mileage, pay, order, delivery address... everything before delivery. If you accept it, tip or not, it's on you."
According to the Mirror, DoorDash representative said: "We take the safety of our community extremely seriously, and such inappropriate behaviour is never tolerated on the DoorDash platform.
"Any behaviour that violates this zero tolerance policy is grounds for deactivation, and the Dasher involved has been removed from our platform.
"We have been in touch with the customer to offer support, and sincerely regret that this incident fell short of the experience we strive to provide every day."
