If you're like everyone else, you probably have a drawer full of plastic shopping bags. They come in handy every once in awhile, but saving them can get out of control. Check out this nifty trick for saving and recycling them once and for all.
Get Control Of That Stock Pile Of Plastic Shopping Bags With This Trick
#1 Hoarding Plastic Bags
We've all been raised on the R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. And it's rare you find someone these days who won't just get rid of their plastic bags. Literally everyone has the same "I'll reuse these, I'm sure" mentality, and no one ever actually does. They just pile up in various spots around the house.
#2 What To Do With Those Bags
Unless you carry around your own reusable bags with you, you no doubt return from shopping with several plastics bags a week. These bags take over 100 years to decompose in landfills and are a hazard to birds and animals. Because we always think we may need to use them 'someday' we just keep stockpiling them. Well, we're not here to cure you of your hoarding tendencies, but the least we can do is help you stay cleaned and organized about it.
#3 Double Up On Reusing
This life hack is pretty easy. All you need to start is an empty kleenex holder. That's right, we're reusing TWICE here. The hippies are proud. Also, you can use various designs on your tissue box, or if you're feeling extra crafty, you can decorate your own with decoupage or wrapping paper. But Kleenex has some pretty colorful boxes for sale ready to reuse.
#4 The First Bag
Roll the first back up that the bottom is sort of balled, and the handles are still visible. Like a little bunny head. Then tuck it down in the box.
#5 Rinse And Repeat
Feed the next bag through the handles and push that down into the box. After that, it's just a matter of repeating this step until all the bags are in the box. Depending on the size of your collection, this will either take only one episode 'Orange Is The New Black' to complete or an entire season.
#6 Voila
Now you have an easy plastic bag dispenser that you can leave on your counter or tuck away into a drawer or cabinet and then completely forget about while you pile up more bags.
Happy Life Hacking!
