For some reason, Google Maps can show you anyplace in the world, but there is one area you won't be able to view. Except for one, a typical street in Cleveland, Ohio, will reveal the suburban houses that reside there. For a terrifying reason, one house has been blurred from view.
Google Maps Blurred Out This House On An Ordinary Street For A Very Chilling Reason
It was a regular appearing home on a suburban street until the property was blurred from view. The two-story structure features four bedrooms, a bathroom, a basement with 760 square feet (71 square meters), two porches, an attic, and a detached garage. It hides the actual horror of what was going on inside from the outside.
The authorities discovered tape and chains used to hold the three women when they began their investigation after they were released. Each woman had her room, which she was confined to regularly and given buckets to use for bathroom purposes.
The three women were kidnapped between 2002 and 2004 after Castro promised them rides to his house, where they were subjected to mental, physical, and sexual torture until they escaped in 2013.
Michelle, Castro's first victim, was only 21 years old when she vanished in August 2002. She vanished the day before a custody hearing for her small son, Joey, at which she was scheduled to appear.
Next, Castro kidnapped Amanda, who vanished on her way home from Burger King the day before her 17th birthday in April 2003. Castro's child was born three years later on Christmas Day. Jocelyn was the baby's name.
Gina, a fourteen-year-old girl, was Castro's third victim. She went lost in April 2004 while on her way home from school. She later explained that she accepted Castro's offer of a ride because she was a friend of one of his teenage kids, who lived with his ex-partner Grimilda Figueroa.
When the three women were left alone at Castro's house, they eventually fled their 'prison' in the basement. Mr. Ramsey, a neighbor, heard Amanda yelling for help and came to their aid.
After pleading guilty to 937 counts of kidnapping and rape, Castro was sentenced to life in prison + 1,000 years in 2013.
He was found dead in his prison cell a month after being sentenced, having committed suicide.
