#1 I took on a second job, was in the thesis year of my masters program,
and became a new dad all around the same time and as difficult as it was adapting to all of that craziness at once, it paled in comparison to teaching my father how to use a smartphone.

but first I had to show him how to power the thing on and make a phone call.

and half-hour tutorial sessions and my heart swells with pride every time I see him use Google text-to-speech to send messages to his hunting buddies.
#4 But what a lot of people forget is that our cultural values also play a lot into how technology is developed and used,
so when someone from a completely different time period uses new gadgetry, the results are often hilarious.
