Dr Cota tries to calm the brave boy as he slashes open the giant cyst with a scalpel opening up his forehead.

The boy groans in pain as hideous blood and pus streams from the lump.

Gradually, as the growth deflates his left eye re-emerges underneath.

Chalazion is caused by an obstruction in the eye ducts, meaning oil from the eye is not being drained away.

It can be brought on by skin conditions like rosacea.

Doctors advise holding a hot wet flannel on the affected area for up to ten minutes several times a day.

A chazalion incision is typically performed under general or local anesthetic.
