#MeToo And "Times Up"

Asia Argento and Rose McGowan accused Weinstein of sexual assault, this led to the rise of #metoo and 'times up' campaigns and encouraged a number of sexual assault victims to come into action and name the predators in public that included a number of powerful Hollywood celebrities.

Solidarity To The Victims

Following the chain of events, Hollywood men and women started a #metoo and "Times Up" campaign and decided to show their solidarity to the victims of sexual abuse by wearing black dresses at the Golden Globe Awards 2018. However, after hearing the claims of accused women that they were not invited to the Awards, one cannot help but wonder what is all this facade about?

Argento Spoke Up On Twitter

Argento on her Twiter account tweeted, "I can only speak for myself but not only I wasn’t invited to the #GoldenGlobes: nobody asked my opinion about #TIMESUP or to sign the letter. I support @TIMESUPNOW even though I was excluded from it. Guess I am not POWERFUL or HOLLYWOOD enough. Proud to work behind the scenes."

Argento tweeted to McGowan, "No one should forget that you were the first one who broke the silence. Anyone who tries to diminish your work is a troll and an enemy of the movement. You gave me the courage to speak out. I am on your side until I die." McGowan tweeted back, "And not one of those fancy people wearing black to honour our rapes would have lifted a finger had it not been so. I have no time for Hollywood fakery, but you I love, @AsiaArgento."

Not Invited To The Ceremony

Rosana Arquette another victim of Weinstein, in response to a follower, tweeted, "No we weren’t invited. Annabella [Sciorra], Daryl [Hannah], Mira [Sorvino] … none of us was." Patricia Arquette, Arquette's sister replied, "That’s not cool-All of you should have been included. I wasn’t asked either but who cares! It’s great they are doing it & we will too!"
