Do you have any overripe tomatoes in your refrigerator? If so, do not throw them away! I bet you didn't know that you can turn them into entirely new tomatoes in just a matter of days. The Wannabe Homesteader teaches us how to grow tomatoes using a pot, some dirt, and a tomato! Amazing!

When you cut the tomato, make sure it's about a quarter inch thick. Put it on top of the dirt. You will notice the seedlings in the tomato when you put it in the pot.

Then, simply put some more soil over the tomato slices, making sure that they are thoroughly covered. Periodically water the pot for 7 to 14 days.

This technique looks almost too easy, but obviously it works like a charm! Studies have shown that every year, 30-40 percent of what is grown and raised in the United States is thrown in the garbage or rots.
