Does anyone else remember just locking themselves in their rooms to blast their music because nobody understood them? No? Just me? At one point in my silly mind, I really thought that bands like Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance just understood everything that I was going through. I had the biggest crush on the lead singers, and the obsession was real. If you were anything like me, then you'll definitely want to know where these guys ended up. Some of them look completely different and will recapture your young emo heart.
Here's What Happened To Your Emo Crushes From The 2000s
1. Joel and Benji Madden from Good Charlotte
The twins were always my favorite members of the group.
Joel is married to Nicole Richie and Benji is married to Cameron Diaz.
The twins continue to make music, but their band is now called The Madden Brothers.
2. Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy
Nobody pulls off eyeliner quite like Pete. And remember how people went crazy for him and he wasn't even the lead singer of the band?!
Pete owns a record label called DCD2 Records, which has signed bands including Panic! at the Disco and Cobra Starship.
3. Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance
Ooh, this one takes me back. I remember listening to "Welcome to the Black Parade" on repeat.
As of last year, there won't be a My Chemical Romance reunion.
*single tear falls*
4. Brendon Urie from Panic! At The Disco
Just by looking at the photo, I bet you're already humming (or even full-on singing) "I Write Sins Not Tragedies."
Brendon is now married and Panic! released another album last year that debuted at number one!
5. Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy
Patrick was the lead singer and was never upstaged by Pete Wentz in my heart.
Wait, what?! This is what Patrick looks like now after releasing a fancy solo album back in 2011.
6. Chris Carrabba from Dashboard Confessional
Dashboard Confessional wrote so many of my "hairbrush songs": the songs I would sing very loudly and emotionally into my hairbrush.
Since Dashboard Confessional, he was the lead singer of Further Seems Forever and he also sang with a folk band named Twin Forks.
7. Tyson Ritter from All-American Rejects
Look at those cheekbones! Moving on from the cheekbones, remember screaming the lyrics to "Dirty Little Secret" and "Move Along"?
Tyson has moved on to acting. He's made appearances on Parenthood and Wicked City.
He also worked on The House Bunny with Emma Stone before she was an Oscar winner!
8. Forrest Kline from Hellogoodbye
Whoever says that "Here (In Your Arms)" was not their jam is LYING. LYING, I SAY.
He is so rocking that hipster look. Forrest is now married and still working on music.
