Most people can’t say that someone at Pizza Hut saved their life but then again, most people aren’t Cheryl Treadway. When the Florida mom was held hostage with her three children by her boyfriend, she cleverly decided to use a pizza delivery to alert the authorities.
It all started when Treadway got into a fight with her boyfriend, Ethan Nickerson, who according to reports was under the influence of amphetamines at the time of the fight. At some point she told him she needed to leave to pick her kids from school but he demanded her go with her, threatening her with a large kitchen knife.

After they couple returned home with the kids, Nickerson allowed his girlfriend to use the phone to order a pizza from Pizza Hut using the Pizza Hut app. It's then that Treadway came up with the idea that eventually saved her life and her children's.

In the comments section of her order she wrote: ‘Please help. Get 911 to me!' as well as ‘911 hostage help!'. Pizza Hut employees, who knew her well because she was a regular customer, immediately passed the message along to the Highlands County Sheriff's Department.

Officers soon arrived at Nickerson's home and were able to escort her and her children out of the house safely.
Thankfully, they were also able to convince Nickerson to exit his home peacefully. They later took him into custody.

Nickerson has since been charged with assault with a weapon without intent to kill, battery, false imprisonment and obstructing justice by depriving communication to law enforcement.
