Turns out that there’s a way to get free McDonald’s whenever you want it, all you have to do is save someone’s life.
Yes, like the infamous Nando’s black card or the highly coveted Greggs’ VIP card it turns out that McDonald’s has a secret card that entitles the owner to free food whenever they want it.

Whether you're after an instant hangover cure or a quick bite to eat when out and about, sometimes McDonald's is the only thing which will hit the spot.
The fast food chain may be good value compared to a fancy meal, but after a while, the cost of all those Big Macs and chicken nugget meals does start to add up.
If you're a regular McDonald's customer, you may be interested to know that the restaurant offers an exclusive gold card which gives the holder access to unlimited free food.

Unfortunately, unless you're a billionaire or happen to have invented the Big Mac getting one of these exclusive cards isn't going to be easy. Basically, you have to earn one.
#3
Billionaire Warren Buffet owns one, as does Bill Gates, and American actor Rob Lowe once revealed he has a McGold Card too, while being interviewed on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Rob told the cameras: "The way I got this is my buddy in Santa Barbara's dad is one of the original McDonald's franchisees, and he invented the Egg McMuffin.
"Which to me is like the greatest human achievement.
"And he invented Ronald McDonald."
The host replied: "You know what's gonna happen when you try to use this thing?
"They're never going to have seen it before.
"The employee's going to be like ‘what in the hell is this?'
"And then they'll all gather around and then you'll finally go ‘alright, here's the $3.40'.
"But that is pretty good.
"And to know the guy that invented the Egg McMuffin, that's a major major thing."
Rob then joked: "I know powerful people. I really do."
We just hope the celeb doesn't encounter any robbers called Rob, as the card is only labeled with his first name.

This is all slightly annoying for ordinary punters, given that most celebs and billionaires can afford to fork out for a burger and fries.
Although we do all have something to thank Rob's friend's dad for.
And, if you're really desperate to get your paws on one, there is some hope - as ordinary people have occasionally been awarded the cards too.

Charles Ramsey earned his card when he left his half-eaten Big Mac to come to the aid of three kidnapped women back in May 2013. For his troubles, Charles was awarded free McDonald's, at all locations, for a year and unlimited McDonald's forever in his home state of Ohio.

Meanwhile, 100-year-old Nadine Baum was recently given free McDonald's for the rest of her life although admittedly she got a certificate rather than a card.
#7
Unfortunately, no gold cards have ever been issued here in the UK, maybe we're not heroic enough, and McDonald's said: "Sorry to be a let-down, but the McDonald's gold card does not exist in the UK."
#8
They added:
"Individual stores will make a call on the individual, for example, a regular customer or local/national hero but there is no policy in the UK of giving away food to people and no plans to introduce it."
Who knows, though, maybe if you're truly heroic you'll get lucky and Ronald will grant you one of the cards
