According to the Chicago Police Department, Bandemer was shot at in his house at 11:37 a.m. His cousin was also home at the time, but he had gone out to smoke a cigarette when the crime took place. Prosecutors were able to recover a Snapchat video in which Mendoza admitted the crime.
#4 Video Confession
The Snapchat video, which was recorded and shared by Mendoza from the back of a police car after his arrest, doesn't leave any doubts: "I killed Chris and now I'm going to kill myself." Mendoza is being held on a $250,000 bail.
