Leonardo DiCpario was 22-years-old in the first picture. It was taken at the Oscars where he was invited after starring in the romantic drama Romeo + Juliet. This was even before achieving international fame with James Cameron's epic romance Titanic. The last picture was taken this year, after he had won the Oscar for Best Actor for The Revenant.

In 1996, Kate Winslet starred in both Jude and Hamlet. The first movie was acclaimed among critics and landed the actress an invitation to the Oscars.
The second picture of her was taken this year. The actress only release of 2016 was John Hillcoat's crime-thriller Triple 9, in which she appears as a Russian-Israeli mafia moll, described by Hillcoat as ‘a really glamorous, nasty piece of work'.
