#1 Would you eat this if the calories were displayed prominently on the front? Scroll down to find out how many..

A little bit of what you fancy supposedly does you good. But what if even a little bit amounted to a lot - and therefore probably wasn't that good for you?

It's hard to resist a nice bowlful of Ben and Jerry's, or a few spoonfuls of Nutella straight of the jar (when you think no one's looking) and we are aware which foods are unapologetically calorific.

But when the calorie count is in teeny-tiny writing on the back of a packet, or on the brand's website, it's easy to ignore.

After all, no one wants to become that bore rattling off their encyclopedic knowledge of which foods contain however many calories.

However, for those of you who are curious, Calorie Brands have re-imagined and redesigned our favourite snacks and treats - and revealed their true calorific nature.

So take a look and be enlightened by the nine below, and bear in mind a man's daily calorie allowance is 2500 MAX, and a woman's allowance is 2000 MAX .

#2 French fries

Calories: 515

Percentage of a man's daily allowance: 20 per cent

Percentage of a woman's daily allowance: 25 per cent

Perhaps no surprises here. And as the folk behind Calorie Brands say themselves, "Lovin' it for 5 minutes and hatin' it for 3 months."

#3 Snickers bar

Calories: 250

Percentage of a man's daily allowance: 10 per cent

Percentage of a woman's daily allowance: 12.5 per cent

Bad news for chocolate lovers, the chocolate bar formerly known as a Marathon requires one to burn off the calories it contains (well, a decent run at any rate).

#4 A bottle of vodka

Calories: 1625

Percentage of a man's daily allowance: 65 per cent

Percentage of a woman's daily allowance: 81.25 per cent

OK, we're not suggesting you drink an entire bottle of vodka in one sitting. But the overall count does show that even clear spirits add up, calorie-wise.

#5 Pizza

Calories: 1680

Percentage of a man's daily allowance: 67.2 per cent

Percentage of a woman's daily allowance: 84 per cent

There are times when nothing else except for pizza will do (especially if you've enjoyed a few vodkas the night before), but, unsurprisingly, there is a price to pay for this.

#6 Ben & Jerry's

Calories: 1200

Percentage of a man's daily allowance: 48 per cent

Percentage of a woman's daily allowance: 60 per cent

It can sometimes feel as if Ben and Jerry are the only men you can rely on. Just make sure you don't rely on them too much.

#7 Red Bull

Calories: 110

Percentage of a man's daily allowance: 4.4 per cent

Percentage of a woman's daily allowance: 5.5 per cent

Wings aren't the only thing a can of Red Bull will give you.
