Hugh Hefner once ruled over a sexy wonderland at the Playboy Mansion in the swanky part of LA but now the 90-year-old magazine founder is falling apart. “He looks like he is down to around 90 pounds and super sick," a source told the New York Post's "Page Six" column, while insiders added, "They're propping him up for the big Playboy events!"

#2 Nurses Walk The Halls Instead Of Bunnies

The mansion was once known as the capital of louche living, where scantily clad women frolicked with wealthy men and celebrities, all overseen by eccentric millionaire Hugh Hefner, who made his fortune in the Playboy Magazine business.

But now, according to British glamor model Carla Howe, 25, one of the last 'bunnies' to still stay at the resort, the Playboy Mansion's glory days are long gone and visitors are more likely to see nurses instead of lingerie-clad beauties in bunny suits wandering the decepit hallways.

#3 It's No Longer A Place For Topless Girls And Wild Sex Parties

Carla said that the iconic Beverly Hills home is no longer a 'place of excess with orgies and topless girls', and instead, 'Hef is so frail he goes everywhere with a group of nurses.' She claims Hugh has become a recluse and is so frail that he is only awake for 6-7 hours each day, and he spends his time playing checkers with the girls instead of hosting wild parties. "He is slipping away," she said.

#4 His Son Props Him Up And Runs The Company

On the magazine side of things, disappointed executives saw Hef's son Cooper (pictured) serve as the face of the magazine in recent months as Hugh isn't getting out of bed. "He used to swear that he'd outlive us all," said one Playboy bunny, "but Hef hasn't been the same since he became a tenant in his own home!" His son has reportedly told insiders that he will shut down the Playboy business once his father is dead.

#5 The Mansion And Grounds Were Sold In 2016

The famous playboy had put his infamous mansion and estate up for sale, as his magazine was faltering in sales. The notorious Playboy Mansion was sold in August 2016 for $100 million, on the condition that Hefner could live there until his death. Playboy Enterprises will pay $1 million a year to lease the property until Hugh dies, according to agents not authorized to comment on the transaction. All the artwork, statues, furnishings, gargoyles and arcade games at the mansion were also included in the deal.

#6 The Playmates Say The Mansion Is Falling Apart

Carla and her twin, Melissa, still stay at the Playboy Mansion when in LA, though they are normally in the UK. Carla says that the mansion itself is beginning to look as tired as aging Hefner does. 'He almost never leaves home and refuses to change anything in the mansion the whole place feels like it's stuck in the 1980s.'

The model describes the residence as looking and feeling very worn-out, with old phones that hang on the walls, bedrooms that smell damp and feel 'cold and unused', televisions from the 1980s and even light fixtures and windows that have not been replaced or repaired.

The 22-bedroom estate in Holmby Hills, California, where A-list celebs including Leonardo DiCaprio, Charlie Sheen, Warren Beatty, Jack Nicholson, and Colin Farrell once ran wild, now smells of decay, dog urine, mildew and molding mattresses, visitors said. Carla added that hardly anyone showed up for his 2016 gala!

Amazingly, the mansion is no longer a “place of excess with orgies and topless girls,” said Carla, "But it was a different story back in the day!"

#8 Other Former Playmates Confirm The Failing Health And Mansion

In 2010 former resident Izabella St James confirmed that the life of a Playboy bunny was far from glamorous in her tell-all autobiography Bunny Tales. She said the Playboy Mansion was far from the glamorous mansion she had imagined.

'Each ­bedroom had mismatched, random pieces of furniture,' she recalled in her book. 'It was as if someone had gone to a charity shop and bought the basics for each room.' Although we all did our best to decorate our rooms and make them homey, the mattresses on our beds were ­disgusting, old, worn and stained from God knows what. The sheets were past their best, too.'

Izabella recalled how Leo and Colin could “click their fingers” to take their pick of girls at the house. “These boys caused a stir at every party,” she said. “Leo practically lived at the mansion! I lost count of the times I saw him bundling five or six girls into a limo to take back to his house.” But those times are long gone.

She confirmed what Carla had already reported, that it wasn’t all that long ago the mansion was hosting the top celebs in Hollywood for wild bashes. According to her, the list of stars who once partied in the house off Sunset Boulevard included George Clooney, Jim Carrey, Bill Maher, Charlie Sheen, Chris Pratt, Alfonso Ribeiro, Warren Beatty, and Brad Pitt.

#10 Holly Madison Suffered Panic Attacks And Stress While Living With Hefner

Hef’s former #1 Girlfriend, Holly Madison (pictured), claimed the Playboy honcho offered her a Quaalude as a “thigh opener” the first night she met him at a club. Holly, who lived at the mansion from 2001 through 2008, said she had sex with the swinger the first time she was summoned to his bedroom, along with six other girls and Bill Cosby.

Despite appearing delighted with her pals in the E! reality Show Girls Next Door, she wrote a best-selling book on the Playboy Club and Hefner, revealing all the secrets of drugs, prostitution, and how he lured young models with money and cars to live at the estate and perform sex acts with rich men from around the world. She claims that during the entire time at the mansion she was under duress and suffered from panic attacks.

But now, said Carla, Hef spends quiet nights at the sprawling Gothic-style estate adhering to a strict, and boring, regime. He's also seen the Playboy Mansion's reputation smeared by accusations from alleged victims of twisted comic Bill Cosby. Cosby was a close pal of Hef's and stayed at the mansion on a regular basis. Many of Cosby's accusers in his rape scandals are stating that Hugh Hefner provided Cosby with the drugs and a place to perform his dirty deeds.

#12 The Mansion Is Like A Nursing Home

There are still beautiful women living at the house, said Carla, but they have a strict 9 p.m. curfew, and men are banned from the mansion. It’s “like being in prison,” the model noted, adding that Hefner “refuses to change anything, and the whole place feels like it’s stuck in the 1980s!”

#13 He Pays The Girls Now To Stay At The Mansion

But Carla and the four other girls staying in the Playboy Mansion are actually paid to stay with the one-time 'King of Swing' and receive $560 a week plus room and board. The girls believe it is because Hugh is afraid that of staying alone in the once jam-packed party mansion by himself. His wife, is always away or out of the country.

#14 Playmates Think Hefner Is Suffering From Dementia

But Carla and Elizabeth, both 'playmates' appearing in the newer version on the no skin magazines and online versions, are more worried about Hefner than the house and estate. As stated earlier, the Playboy is usually propped up with pillows for photographs and only gets around in a wheelchair. The girls all claim that Hefner is suffering from dementia and his doctors won't tell them anything.

They believe his current wife, Crystal Harris Hefner knows about his health issues but she is 50 years younger than Hefner, who will be 91 in a few months, and is not concerned about his well being or the estate since it's been sold already. The playmates claim that Crystal has poor health herself and 'can't wait for him to pass away' so she can finally be free.
