Profuse sweating, even in cold conditions is just one of the causes of long-term alcohol abuse and addiction. This could cause more health problem if not treated properly.

Feeling extra-hot due to an increase in hormones, blood flow and metabolism. The reason you are sweating a lot is because your body is trying to cool down.

Prolonged exposure to high temperature environment could cause Heat exhaustion, though it is less serious condition than heat stroke, it could be cause more harm if not addressed properly. Moving to a shade or an air-conditioned place are is a must. Loosen clothing and drink cool water, non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated beverages like sports drinks to help restore electrolyte balance.

Somewhat related to Heat Exhaustion but this time, person suffering from heat stroke has high internal body temperature but not sweating. Symptoms also include rapid pulse and difficulty breathing. Immediately call an emergency assistance if you know someone suffering from heat stroke/stroke. For first aid, move the person to shaded or cool area, elevate their feet higher than their head to reduce the chance of shock, loosen or remove clothing, put ice packs or cold compresses under their arms, groin area, and behind their neck, give them cool and non-alcoholic drink preferably water only if they are not disoriented and not vomiting, stay with them until the emergency assistance arrive.

On a more serious note. Person with cancer sweat heavily. That can happen at night or even when the room is cool. There may be enough to soak your clothes. Such sweating is common when a fever breaks. You may notice that you sweat a lot a short time after shaking chills.
