Have you ever wished for an easy way to reduce stress? Some people pay for an expensive massage or some other fancy treatment but perhaps you might be interested in learning a little basic reflexology that you can do on your own to achieve the same, relaxing results. According to Richard Randig, a reflexologist, you can focus on different pressure points in your ear to reduce stress and provide relief to different areas of your body.

He says that the reason this ear massage works so well is because our ears are located so close to the brain and for that reason, the benefits are tremendous. In this video, he gives specific examples of this treatment. If you are new to this, you can take a look at this reflexology map to help you understand these locations:

The first step is to sit down comfortably in a chair and if you have long hair, move it up and out of your way. Then begin by pressing on your earlobes and pulling them downwards gently. Then trace out the edges of your ears several times.

Each time that you touch your ears you should also be paying attention to the rest of your body as well and take notice of any other pains or irritations that you feel when you squeeze your ears. Then put pressure on each point of the outer ear as shown in the diagram and hold the pressure on each spot for five seconds. Repeat this process 5 times and then move on to your other ear.

Some people have even done this method by using a clothespin as it seems to provide the right amount of pressure without guessing. Each spot on your ear provides relief to a specific part of your body. If you apply pressure to one spot, be sure to be thinking clearly about that spot to see how it feels when you do this. Take a look at this video for a full example of this technique and then give it a try for yourself:
