Shoulders:

The cracking sound in your shoulders is usually linked with age. If you're under 35 and you experience this often it's a sign of unstable and weakened tendons and connective tissue. This usually happens when you're at work but it's nothing that can't be fixed with long-term physical therapy.

Elbows:

If your elbows crack while you move and sometimes even lock in a position and you can't move it you may be facing with a "wandering" piece of bone or cartilage with the size of a sand grain. If your elbows snap and gonumb you may also be suffering from a pinched nerve, so if you want to prevent further damages you need to see a doctor.

Hands:

Your parents probably warn you not to snap your fingers when you were little because your hands will shake when you grow older. But you must have figured by now that it's not true. When you snap your fingers you stretch the small bags with protective fluid which are located in between your knuckles, releasing the pressure and feeling relieved.

Hips:

Do you frequently feel a short and intense cracking noise in your hips? This happens because the tendons which support your leg shift to the outside. This can be rather painful but you shouldn't panic because it's nothing serious. Even young people feel this quite often and can be eliminated with stretching exercises.

Ankles:

There could be plenty of reasons behind ankle snapping but most usually it happens because of an old injury. Loosened tendons can't hold the ankle in place and it can snap under pressure and leave the socket. If you feel a very loud sound and strong pain from the outside of your heel you might have injured your Achilles tendon.

Knees

Why do your knees crack every time you bend? Because when we bend forward we pressure the knees with weight seven times bigger than our own which means that our knees are protesting against this. The best solution for this problem is to work out in order to strengthen the muscles around your knees.
