A BABY boy covered in thick black hair is the latest member of a ‘werewolf family’.
The unnamed tot’s arms, face and back are covered in a layer of thick black hair that will coarsen as he gets older.

22 years old Manisha Sambhaji Raut from Pune, India is a worried mother of a five month old kid who has been called a werewolf in making. The little baby boy has inherited a rare werewolf gene that runs in the family. The thick black hair that covers the baby's back, arms and legs is caused by a one in a billion condition known as hypertrichosis universalis.

Sambhaji and her two sisters are also suffering from this condition. There is no known cure for Werewolf Syndrome and all Manisha and her sisters have been able to do is slather themselves in removal cream days after days.

Manisha and husband Vithal, 30, who runs a sweets stall, had an arranged marriage on May 25, last year, and are overjoyed at becoming parents but Manisha's mother-in-law is devastated her grandson has the Werewolf Syndrome.

"My sisters and I were always teased and often nicknamed ghost, bear and monkey. To know my son will also go through the pain and suffering I went through breaks my heart. But he is my baby and I will love him unconditionally the way my mother took care of me, no matter how he looks. My only wish is that my child will grow up like a normal child." Sambhaji says.

Sambhaji recalls her childhood when she was locked away as people could not cope with the way she looked. She only wishes that the world will look at her son in a different way. She is proud of her husband who has supported her and her sisters but complains that her mother-in-law is not happy.
