Interviewers Who Tried To Embarrass A Female Celeb, But Just Ended Up Embarrassing Themselves

As a culture, we like exploiting and humiliating women for content. And, sadly, talk show presenters and interviewees are professionals at this.
However, luckily, it frequently backfires. And they're the ones that wind up looking like total fools.
So here are 12 instances where an interviewer attempted to shame a female celebrity and came out as uninformed, disrespectful, arrogant, or just plain desperate:
1. Taylor Swift was forced to play Twister with adult male presenters during an engagement on a radio station in 2008.
After an EXTREMELY uncomfortable introduction in which the main DJ repeatedly commented on how grown up Taylor was and actually declared, "our little girl's no longer a little girl," he asked her whether she had ever heard of the game Twister because she's "kinda young."
Taylor attempted to combat the inane questions and comments with jokes.
She even tried telling him she wasn't exactly game-ready, but he kept pushing her.
Taylor then questioned the hosts, rather rightly, whether they had forced other performers to play Twister all day. They said that they forced Cowboy Crush to do it (which, of course, is an all-girl band). She then inquired as to whether they had rejected, to which one of them replied, "Of course not."
2. Joan Rivers informed Mariah Carey during the 1999 Academy Awards pre-show that many believed she gained weight.
Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston's Oscar-nominated song "When You Believe" was about to be performed in front of millions of people. So this interview was more than simply humiliating. It was very cruel.
Mariah, on the other hand, took it like a champ and shot back at Joan.
3. Graham Norton repeatedly asked Cara Delevingne disrespectful questions in 2017 while her father was in the audience.
Graham brought up a moment when she was having sex on an aircraft, which they had discussed backstage. Yet despite Cara's obvious discomfort — clearing her throat, rubbing her neck, stammering — he wouldn't stop.
She even admitted that she was uncomfortable, but Graham persisted.
Observing how uneasy Cara looked, actresses Jessica Hynes and Martine McCutcheon tried to divert attention by claiming they were the ones on the plane with her.
Women helping women. We enjoy seeing it.
4. In 2007, Janet Jackson was brutally asked about a completely unrelated Super Bowl event in which Justin Timberlake exposed her breast.
Tyler Perry, who was also being asked about the film, hastily evaded the subject, adding that he hoped the Jets would win the Super Bowl that year.
The anchor didn't get the point and continued to ask questions, blaming her and only her for what had transpired.
At this time, Tyler got obviously unhappy, squirming in his seat. He deflected once more, this time praising Janet on her acting ability.
Later, in THE MOST OBVIOUS section of the interview, the same anchor playfully asked Janet if she was wearing "iron suspenders."
When Tyler tried to return the focus to the movie, the anchor questioned if there were any wardrobe malfunctions in the film.
5. Taylor Swift was pressed to divulge her relationship history on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2012.
Many times during the conversation, Ellen emphasized, almost to the point of annoyance, that Taylor and Zac Efron were dating.
When Taylor refused to reveal the subject of her song "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," Ellen handed her a bell and told her to ring it when the person's photo showed on the screen.
As Taylor objected, Ellen seized the bell and rang it for her, making Taylor quite uncomfortable. "This makes me feel so bad about myself," she told Ellen. Ellen eventually calmed down when Taylor ordered her to stop.
6. Megan Fox had to endure extremely inappropriate comments and questions while promoting Jennifer's Body on ET in Canada.
Megan attempted to laugh it off as the interviewer stated that every male alive was in love with her.
Yet, the gentleman continued continuing, demanding that every interaction she had with a male must conclude with that man flirting with her.
Megan stated that she didn't socialize with many people and referred to herself as a "recluse."
She then squinted for a single second, and the interviewer said, "Look, now I think you're flirting with me."
7. Scarlett Johansson was questioned about her desire to...eat while promoting The Avengers in Russia.
When Scarlett informed the reporter that she was delighted to "tour the cuisine" in Russia, she instinctively concluded that Scarlett was on some type of diet.
Scarlett promptly clapped back, emphasizing that no supposed "diet" was prohibiting her from eating.
8. Mariah Carey was compelled to justify a dress decision on The Rosie O'Donnell Show in 2000.
Rosie began the conversation by showing a photo of Mariah from the American Music Awards and calling her clothing "trampy."
Before the talk could continue, Mariah rolled her eyes and stopped Rosie, saying, "I have something to say!" Mariah went on to say that she was free to wear anything she chose.
Rosie then slammed Britney Spears' AMAs attire, calling it "trampy," to which Mariah remarked, "She's a nice girl."
9. Rihanna was probed about her personal life during a press conference to promote her film Battleship.
Rihanna replied to the absurd question before the interviewer had even finished.
10. Kristen Wiig was approached for nudity advice while appearing on a Colorado morning program to promote her film Skeleton Twins.
The host assumed Kristen was naked in Skeleton Twins when, in fact, he was thinking of a whole different Kristen Wiig-led film. So he not only asked her a very inappropriate question, but he was also completely incorrect.
11. During an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2004, Oprah asked Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen about their clothing sizes.
There were reports about Mary-Kate having an eating disorder around the time the twins were on the show, and the media was not nice about it.
Oprah inquired about the allegation, but as Ashley was explaining how rumors "come with the territory," Oprah interrupted her to inquire about their size.
Ashley was definitely taken aback by the extremely harsh and inconsiderate question.
When Mary-Kate and Ashley explained they didn't know their actual size since they're both quite diminutive (just over five feet tall) and had to have their clothing taken in most of the time, Oprah mocked them.
12. Finally, while Sandra Bullock was on The Today Show promoting her film The Proposal, Matt Lauer couldn't stop gushing about her "nude" moment.
Matt began the conversation by telling Sandra how happy he was that she appeared naked in the film. He repeated it numerous times and even joked it was his screen saver.
Sandra kept her cool and cracked jokes till he left. Yet his final question drew her nakedness back into the discourse.
Sandra then joked that she would never return after the interview.
She was perfectly deadpan when she said that, so I'm hoping she wasn't joking.
