Dubbed as 'Zombie Angelina Jolie,' this famous Iranian Instagram star has been sentenced to 10 years in jail after she uploaded heavily distorted and edited pictures on social media.

Tabar rose to fame when she uploaded creepy gaunt artwork that resembled Angelina Jolie only that it was her zombie version. She had a decent following of 486,000 at that time.

Sahar Tabar, 19 whose original name is Fatemeh Khishvand was arrested last year for posting these pictures. As Guardian reports, the girl was arrested on charges of corrupting young minds and uploading content that is disrespectful to the country.

Guardian further reports that Tabar has called on Angelina Jole for helping her out of jail, saying, "The Islamic Republic has a history of tormenting women. We need to be united against this gender apartheid."

Tabar was charged with serious crimes that make her release from jail more difficult. The former influencer was charged with inciting violence, blasphemy, gaining income through inappropriate means, and encouraging youths to corrupt their minds. However, she has been cleared of two of the serious charges.

It was reported that at the beginning of this year, Tabar caught the coronavirus, and human rights lawyer Payam Derafshan told the Center For Human Rights In Iran on Wednesday that: "We find it unacceptable that this young woman has now caught the coronavirus in these circumstances while her detention order has been extended during all this time in jail."

Though the jail head denied the claims "The news released by the lawyer of Fatemeh Khishvand is not true and I deny it," said Mehdi Mohammad.

In an interview on the state-owned television channel IRTV2 Tabar said:

"I do not currently look like my photoshopped pictures. My mother was telling me to stop, but I didn't listen. Sometimes the words of a stranger or a friend can be more important than those of a parent."

The lawyer who is fighting her case asked for bail considering her age but she was given 10 years jail time and no changes in her punishment have been made.
