Jackie Chan has revealed that a fourth entry in the Rush Hour series is closer than we think.

Chan first starred alongside Chris Tucker in the buddy cop action comedy in 1998 with the duo returning for two more sequels in 2001 and 2007.

Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are a match made in action-comedy heaven.

The chemistry they share is so good. They are just made for each other.

Jackie Chan is coming out with a new film called The Foreigner, and honestly, it looks so good.

He did an interview to promote it, and of course, you can't do an interview with Jackie Chan without asking him about Rush Hour.

With ten years now passed since their last on-screen union, Chan has some good news for fans - the fourth installment's script has been written.

We all know Rush Hour 1, 2, and 3, but what about 4? I know it might be pushing it, but the fans want to know. Jackie revealed, "For the last seven years, we've been turning down the script, turning down the script. Yesterday, we just agreed." Okay, I just screamed!

Even though he might have said yes, he said the movie will only go through if Chris Tucker says yes.

He continued: “The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft and next year, [we'll] probably start. If... Chris Tucker agrees.”

According to producer Arthur Sarkissian, however, Chan needn't worry.

He previously claimed that Tucker was “on board,” adding: “He said he would love to do it.”

The Rush Hour films - all directed by Brett Ratner - follow a pair of police detectives and the series of misadventures they find themselves embroiled in. The franchise's combined global box office gross is $850.6m
