The iconic Hollywood couple Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet are splitting up after nearly two decades as a couple and almost five years of marriage.

The  Game of Thrones actor further added that they were announcing their split not because they felt it was newsworthy but it was so that “as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty.”

The emotional post also included several photos, including a child holding a bird and a sunset.

Momoa, now 42, and Bonet, now 54, began dating back in 2005 and got married in October 2017. In one of his interviews, Momoa revealed that Bonet had been his childhood crush and his dream girl, however, he didn't let her know this until they had kids of their own together.

The former couple has two kids together, Lola Iolani and Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha. Bonet is also a mother to actor Zoë Kravitz, whose dad is Lenny Kravitz.

Momoa became a huge hit after playing the role of ill destined Khal Drogo in the first season of Game of Thrones. Following his fame, the star stepped up as Arthur Curry/Aquaman in 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and 2018’s “Aquaman.” He’s now firmly ensconced as a superhero in the DC Comics Universe and appeared as Duncan Idaho in 2021’s “Dune.”

Bonet, on the other hand, took on a dramatic role in 2016 as Marisol Campos in Showtime’s fan-favorite series “Ray Donovan.”
