Her father, John Aniston, was Greek, though Jennifer was born in California when her parents were there filming a movie. They later returned to Greece and Jennifer lived there for over a year as a child.

This one is fun. Her real name is Jennifer Joanna Anastassakis (Greek) but she decided to make it shorter so that people could remember it better. She went with her father's stage name and used Joanna for her first name for a few years.
