Everyone fell in love with Jennifer Aniston when she portrayed Rachel Green on Friends from 1994-2004, and she has gone on to star in countless movies and commercials. #1 She's Greek

Her father, John Aniston, was Greek, though Jennifer was born in California when her parents were there filming a movie. They later returned to Greece and Jennifer lived there for over a year as a child.

#2 She Changed Her Name

This one is fun. Her real name is Jennifer Joanna Anastassakis (Greek) but she decided to make it shorter so that people could remember it better. She went with her father's stage name and used Joanna for her first name for a few years.

#3 She Wasn't Allowed To Watch TV

Her Father, though a very successful actor, discouraged Jennifer from watching television and they never owned a television set while she was a child.

#4 She Wanted To Be In The Arts

She was a very aspiring young artist. When she was just 11 years old, she had a painting of her own on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

An accident in a pool when Jennifer was very young has given her a lifelong fear of water. She avoids it whenever possible. Because of this traumatic experience, the swimming pool scene in the movie "Cake" had to be filmed over 30 times before getting it right.

She met Brad Pitt on a blind date in 1998 set up by her agent and they were attracted to one another very quickly. Before long they tied the knot and were America's sweethearts.

She never got along with the producers of 'Friends". Jennifer originally auditioned for the role of Monica on the show but persuaded producers that she was better suited to play Rachel. She got the role after she was told by the producers to lose 30 pounds. She did, and the rest is history. She held a grudge for years, however.

After Aniston posed naked in GQ, Playboy offered her $4 million to do the same for them. According to an interview with The National Enquire, the actress politely declined the record-breaking offer stating that "GQ is art, Playboy is sex."
