#1 Worst Fear Coming To Truth

Kevin Jonas Sr. had his first colonoscopy in March 2017, where the doctors found a large mass in his stomach, suspecting it to be malignant. Three weeks later, Kevin underwent surgery for the removal of the mass, where the doctors confirmed his worst fears, he had stage II colon cancer.

#2 Life Suddenly Felt Very Short

Hearing the devastating news, Kevin says, "Suddenly, life felt very short." The news shook the Jonas family to the core, Kevin says hearing the diagnosis, his whole life flashed back in his eyes making him wonder if this is the end for him, "My entire life really flashed in front of me. At that moment, I thought, ‘Have I lived a good life? Have I been good to my kids and my wife? Have I done right by people?'"

#3 Kevin Jonas Says His Credit For Recovery Goes To His Family

Getting his treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, Kevin went onto chemotherapy after the surgery. Recently the good news has been shared by the Jonas family, that Kevin Jonas has finally beaten cancer is now cancer free.

In a recent interview, the father of four opened up about his journey of recovery towards his health and believes that he got better only because of the immense support and love he received from his family. The family came together to nurse Kevin back to health and gave him their support throughout this tough time.

#4 Toughest Time For The Family

Talking about the time of diagnosis, Kevin's wife and mother of Jonas brothers opened up about the tough times the family had to go through when Kevin's diagnosis was made. She confesses, "It was a really hard time, feeling like he wasn’t going to make it and not knowing what was ahead of us."

The brothers felt they were going to lose their father, Nick Jonas says, "It was a balance of hope and real concern," says Nick. "I pray no one else ever has to go through that."

#5 Kevin's Sons Had His Back Throughout This Time

In his interview Kevin says, throughout this time, his sons had his back and they didn't let him feel alone for even one moment, "The boys showed me constantly—through texts, phone calls, visits—how much they love me." The immense love from his family was what pushed Kevin to fight hard for his life. Joe Jonas says, "This makes you wake up and appreciate the ones around you. Just spending time together can be the best coping mechanism."

#6 Getting The Good News

The family finally received the big news in December, when their doctor informed them Kevin is cancer free and his cancer is in remission stage. 53-year-old says this was the best news of his life, he wants to make the most it now, "I want to have more romance with my wife of 32 years, see my kids get married and watch my grandkids grow up."

#7 Kevin Is Now Raising Awareness About The Disease

Kevin Jonas also wants to spread awareness about the disease. According to the research, doctors recommend getting a colonoscopy by 50. Kevin Sr. who at the time was 52, has now begun spreading awareness of the importance of early screenings. Kevin is now the spokesperson for Fight CRC which is a national advocacy group that works towards spreading awareness.
