Pop star Justin Bieber is no stranger to controversy. In fact, a large amount of that controversy comes in the form of his love-hate relationship with his fans. Bieber has made it a point to make sure people know he doesn't care what anyone thinks, fan or otherwise. Constantly the fans treat Bieber like a god among men and he returns their love with spite.
One fan had enough of his BS and decided to do something about it drawing the ire of the Biebs.
At a recent concert Bieber was reading a story when abruptly he stopped and scolded fans for "interrupting" him:
He said: "Can you guys do me a favor? I get it, I get it, but I’m like two feet away from you. And I can hear you. I appreciate all the love it’s amazing. But can you show it in a different way? Screaming is just so obnoxious."
The nerve of this guy. Having screaming fans is just the worst thing ever right? (That's sarcasm people.)
You know that wasn't the end of it all right? Of course not. The next big JB blow up happened when he went at it with an Australian fan. Justin was walking in Melbourn when a fan approached him to ask for an autograph. What the Bieb said next was just very harsh. He was quoted as saying, "You have no respect level. Look at you – you’re making me sick."
Yes, celebs are people too and deserve to have their privacy as much as the next person but sometimes JB is just too mean when it comes to the fans.
Recently Justin got a taste of his own medicine when a judge ruled in favor of a fan that sued the Biebs for canceling his meet-and-greets on his Purpose tour last year.
It started on Instagram where Justin uploaded a picture of him hugging a fan with the caption:
"Love u guys [sic] … I’m going to be canceling my meet and greets. The pressure of meeting people’s expectations of what I’m supposed to be is so much for me to handle and a lot on my shoulders. Never want to disappoint but I feel I would rather give you guys the show and my album as promised. Can’t tell you how sorry I am, and wish it wasn’t so hard on me."
The apology seemed to be legit but one fan wasn't having it.
Melissa Matthai bought the VIP package so that she and her 15-year-old daughter, Gabriela could meet Justin. Melissa states that the package cost her $1856.35. For that steep price, they were supposed to get admission to the concert in Miami and the now canceled meet-and-greet sessions with Bieber.
With the abrupt cancellation of the meet and greets, there was much confusion over how to refund the ticket holds.
At first, fans were told they would not receive a refund at all unless they gave up their entire ticket. That meant you would have to miss the concert as well. Because of all of the misunderstandings, Matthai was able to sue Bieber. The suit stated that he breached the ticket contract, negligently misrepresented what he was offering, and violated the Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
I bet he didn't see that coming.
Bieber didn't bother to hire a lawyer or show up in court.
Because he didn't, Judge Jane Fisherman found Bieber to be liable and awarded Matthai $5298.75 for the tickets and to cover legal fees.
So that you can understand the level of petty you are about to read a little better, Biebs earned at least $56 MILLION last year alone!
With that being said the multi-millionaire singer has filed a suit against Matthai wanting her to be sanctioned by the court. He has accused Matthai of “improperly obtaining the default judgment."
Like I said, petty! I mean really that's a drop in the bucket for him.
You really have to think this isn't about the money!
I mean come on! The man's toilet paper probably cost's more than the $5,000 he lost due to Matthai's lawsuit. Is he really that hard up for money? Maybe it's more about the principal of the matter than it is about the money. Who knows. Personally, I hope the courts throw the case out.
