Katy Perry Reveals In An Interview The Heartbreaking Reason Why She Cut Her Hair Short

In order to promote her new album, Katy Perry launched a 96-hour live stream show "Witness World Wide, Katy Perry" on youtube where fans could witness Katy doing everything from her her yoga classes to her sleeping and also her rehearsals.

As a part of the show, Katy also opened up to therapist Dr. Siri Singh and showed us the side of herself that none of us knew about. The 32-year-old singer openly talked about her reason for cutting her hair, her fight with Taylor Swift and her struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts.

The star broke down during her session with the therapist and stated "I'm really strong as Katy Perry, and sometimes I'm not as strong as Katheryn Hudson"

During the session Katy also talked about the reason why she cut her hair “People talk about my hair, right? And they don’t like it, or they wish that it was longer,” Perry said during her session. “I so badly want to be Katheryn Hudson that I don’t even want to look like Katy Perry anymore sometimes, and that is a little bit of why I cut my hair.”

"I feel ashamed that I would have those thoughts, feel that low and that depressed," she stated. "I do believe in God.. I get to live this wonderful life and I work very hard at it."

According to Katy, even though she is a singer and has lived her life under the spotlight, she is a nerd and loves humor. She also loves to make people laugh and loves to play games.

This shows the world that it is important never to judge a book by it's cover as no one knows what the person actually might be going through. It is also important to shed light on mental health and to talk openly about depression as it can help prevent the person from developing suicidal thoughts.
