Keanu Reeves Makes Rare Public Appearance Holding Hands With Girlfriend Alexandra Grant

On Saturday, Keanu Reeves, 57, and his artist girlfriend, Alexandra Grant, 49, attended the 2022 MOCA Gala held at the Geffen Contemporary at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. They walked the red carpet together, holding hands and smiling into each other's eyes during the outing.

The “John Wick” actor looked sharp in a blue suit with a striped tie while Grant wore a chic red gown paired with a gold Chanel clutch and silver sparkly shoes.

The couple first sparked romance rumors when Reeves and Grant attended the Saint Laurent fashion show together in June 2019. That same year, they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles.

Grant hails from Ohio, but grew up in various parts of the world. An artist in her own right, she's been working in the arts since graduating from Swarthmore College in 1994. Since then, she's had her work exhibited in various prestigious spaces across the world, including the LACMA, the Galerie Gradiva in Paris, and The Harris Lieberman Gallery in New York.

The couple first met in 2011 and collaborated on a number of different projects. For instance, Grant provided the art for the books Ode To Happiness and Shadows - two volumes of poetry written by Keanu himself. Grant was hilariously mistaken for Helen Mirren at the time, who is 27 years older than the visual artist.

Reeves and Grant have known each other for years, after collaborating on his 2011 book “Ode to Happiness” as 2016’s “Shadows.” In 2017, they founded the publishing company X Artists’ Books. They have stayed relatively off the radar but did pop up in Berlin in October 2020 where they were seen kissing.

Reeves’ relationship with Grant marks the first romance he’s taken public in years since his split from Jennifer Syme. He and the actress dated for years in the ’90s but reportedly broke up when the grief of having a stillborn child was too much to bear for them. They remained friends until her untimely death in 2001 from a car crash.

A few months after first going public with Reeves, Grant spoke to Vogue about the sudden attention she was receiving.

Speaking in March 2020, she said: "I think every single person I knew called me in the first week of November, and that's fascinating. But the question I've been asking in all of this is: 'What is the opportunity for good?'"

Grant was then asked about the possibility of one day marrying the beloved actor, to which she said, "Over a glass of wine … I would love to tell you. Love at every level is deeply important to my identity. How's that for dodging the question?

"I do not believe that isolation is the way. There is a period of isolation that I do as a painter, but I deeply value the experience of being in relationships."

The sight of a beaming Reeves holding hands with Grant truly warmed the hearts of his fans on social media.

"I AM SO HAPPY FOR THEM. He looks so happy, they look happy and amazing together. Keanu Reeves deserves the best," one Twitter user wrote.

Sharing a picture of the happy couple, another added: "I hope that Keanu Reeves stays this happy forever."
