#1 Here is a new thing to be afraid of: Herpes Gladiatorum.

You might be able to tell by the name that it's related to wrestling. Gladiatorum sounds like gladiator, which makes you think of Russell Crowe, which makes you think of 300, which makes you think of homoeroticism, which eventually brings you to wrestling. This particular strain of herpes is very common amongst wrestlers. Get it?

#2 Students in Fresno, CA, have been warned by teen wrestler Blake Flovin that a strain of the virus is going around.

Flovin went to a meet in San Jose and came in contact with it, either on another player or even a mat. This strain is so contagious, you can get it from contact with things instead of people! What if someone rubbed their face lesions on a toilet seat?! That's why Blake's dad wants school authorities to cancel the big championship this weekend.

#3 Props to this kid. It's not easy to go on the news and share with the world that you contracted face herpes.

Part of the reason Blake and his dad are so concerned, is that they met with dermatologists when Blake's face was starting to break out in small red lesions, and they were misdiagnosed as acne. There are doctors at wrestling meets, but they also misinterpreted Blake's skin.

#4 The family is concerned more kids will be inadequately treated, though they all have to pass a skin test before stepping onto the mats.

ABC News reports that The California Interscholastic Federation says the tournament will go on, and doctors will be on hand.

#5 Meanwhile, Blake has decided to focus on football, where you have a big cage around your face protecting you from other people's weird rashes.
