Kylie Jenner, the renowned business mogul and influencer, recently sat down with HommeGirls magazine for an intimate conversation about her evolving perception of beauty.
Kylie Jenner On Seeing Her Natural Features In Her Kids' Faces
"My daughter looks like me. I get to see my beauty in her, and it's made me love myself more for sure."
In this candid interview, the 25-year-old celebrity reflected on how her outlook has transformed over the years, attributing her children as the catalysts for a profound change in self-perception.
Having spent a significant portion of her life in the public eye, Kylie has been transparent about her teenage insecurities, particularly surrounding her lips.
As a young girl, she grappled with feelings of self-doubt, which ultimately led her to experiment with lip fillers at the age of 17.
In a vulnerable moment on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, she acknowledged her insecurity and admitted to using makeup and overlining her lips as a way to boost her confidence.
"I had really small lips, and I didn’t ever think about it until I had one of my first kisses and a guy said to me, ‘Oh my god, you're such a good kisser, but you have such small lips,’ or something like that. From then on, I felt unkissable," she said.
"I had an insecurity because this guy said something to me one time," she added. "Then I got an obsession with makeup because I would overline my lips and it just made me feel confident."
However, Kylie wants to set the record straight on the notion that she underwent extensive facial surgeries due to insecurity.
During the HommeGirls interview, she passionately denied the long-standing misconception, asserting that she has only ever received lip fillers and not other surgical procedures.
Kylie clarified that her fascination with makeup and contouring techniques stemmed from their transformative power to enhance and alter her facial features temporarily.
Remarkably, Kylie's perception of beauty has undergone a remarkable shift in recent years, largely influenced by her children, 5-year-old Stormi and 1-year-old Aire. Expressing her newfound perspective, she disclosed, "It’s made me love myself more."
"I see my features in my daughter and my son now, but you know, my daughter looks like me," she went on. "I get to see my beauty in her, and it’s made me love myself more for sure. Beauty is always changing for me."
Seeing her own features reflected in her children's faces has enabled Kylie to appreciate her natural beauty in a way she hadn't before.
She now embraces her unique features with greater self-acceptance, recognizing the ever-changing nature of beauty. With an empowering message for her daughter Stormi, Kylie emphasized the importance of confidence.
She lovingly encouraged her little one to embrace her individuality and "always be confident" in herself, affirming that she is perfect just the way she is.
In sharing this advice, Kylie highlights the significance of self-assurance and inner beauty. "She’s perfect the way that she is," Kylie said. "Be confident, always be confident in yourself."
Dispelling the notion that she was an insecure person prior to cosmetic enhancements, Kylie shed light on her self-assured nature, stating, "I always thought I was cute."
She clarified that her decision to enhance her lips was driven by personal preference rather than a lack of confidence. Kylie acknowledges the positive impact it had on her self-image and asserts that she has no regrets.
"Yeah, I love full lips and wanted full lips, but growing up I was always the most confident person in the room. I was the girl performing for everyone," she explained.
"I had my one lip insecurity thing, so I got lip filler, and it was the best thing I’ve ever done. I don’t regret it. But I always thought I was cute," she added.
"I think a big misconception about me is that I’ve had so much surgery on my face and that I was some insecure person, and I really wasn’t!" she said.
Kylie Jenner's journey of self-acceptance and evolving perception of beauty is an inspiring testament to the power of self-love.
Through her experience, she has discovered that beauty is not a static concept but a fluid and personal expression.
By embracing her natural features and encouraging confidence in her daughter, Kylie continues to redefine beauty standards and promote self-empowerment.
