If you’re like me, you’re fed up doing laundry. But with these simple laundry hacks, your life will get just a little bit easier!
#1 Doesn't everyone just HATE laundry day?
If you're one of those people who smells your clothes to see if you can get a second or third use out of them, you're going to love learning these clothes cleaning hacks that will make life just a little bit easier.
#2 The first trick involves cleaning your jeans.
If you don't want the color in your new jeans to fade, you can mix some water and salt together and rub it into your pair of jeans. The color used in the denim usually spreads to other garments in the washing machine.
#3 Salt will slow down the fading process.
The salt helps the colors set into the fabric and will slow down the fading process. It also provides a buffer for spreading colors to your whites! Great!
#4 You can freeze your jeans to eliminate odors as well.
Another life hack for cleaning your jeans is to stuff them into a freezer bag and throw your favorite pair into the freezer.
#5 Levi’s says that freezing your jeans can actually eliminate odor.
Folding your jeans and placing them in ziploc bags and then placing them in your freezer can actually cleaned and eliminate any funky odors. Let them freeze up for 24 hours and then thaw and wear! It works!
#6 Avoid shrinking that brand new shirt or sweater by using COLD water.
When washing your colored clothes, always use cold water instead of warm or hot. Not only will this save money on your electric bill, it helps prevent the colors from running and clothes from shrinking.
#7 If you’re clothes iron broke, try using your hair dryer.
Your hair dryer can act just like a fabric steamer. With clothes slightly damp, just blow dry them to remove any obvious wrinkles before wearing. Works great on that cotton shirt that always seems wrinkled up.
#8 Keep your white clothes looking fresh and vibrant.
While washing your whites, pour in a cup of white vinegar during the rinse cycle to keep them vibrant.
#9 Keep your colored clothing bright and fresh too!
For dark clothing like shirts, pants, and pajamas, pour in 1 cup of table salt to the rinse cycle. It will keep the colors vibrant longer.
#10 Use mouthwash to clean and disinfect your washing machine.
If you're washing machine is dirty, pour in ½ a cup of mouthwash into the empty machine and run it to help disinfect and clean it out!
#11
Just pour it into the machine and run the cycle on rinse, and your machine should be sparkly and clean.
We hate doing laundry because the process is so drawn out and requires many steps, people just seem to avoid doing laundry for as long as they can. Maybe the hacks above will give you some ease when laundry day rolls around.
