Art. Do you have any? No? Too expensive? Thought so. Do you have crayons? Well then, you’re half way there!
*Disclaimer* You’re only half way there if you want art made out of crayons.
Design blog, Homesthetics, has devised a “DIY Melted Crayon Art Project”, which encourages Crayola owners to put their crayons to a slightly different/ seemingly weird new use. Melting them together with a hair dryer (or heated item of your choice… they’re not fussy).
#1 This is how you do it.
#2 You’ll need the above things otherwise all the other crayon artists will laugh at you and say hurtful things.
#3 For the crayon bit, use 12 crayons for a small canvas. Use 24 to 64 crayons for larger canvas. Arrange the colors how you want them. Use the glue gun to fasten them to the canvas.
#4 Use your hair dryer and move it along the crayons. They should glow a little and then begin to melt.
#5 Try not to overdo the dryer time. The tastiest bit of the artwork is the contrast between the colours and the white – so don’t cover it too much.
#6 You’re done now. Happy?
#7 Give it at least an hour do dry and then do with it what you like.
#8 Nifty, right? You’ll be the talk of the town with your new crayon art, we can tell you that for free.
#9 What do you think? Is this the wrong way to make art out of crayons? Crayon makers would say so.
