Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's trial have become one of the most known A-List trials that will be remembered for a long time in history. As the case has divided opinion among the public, naturally there is divided opinion among people from the industry too. Here, is a list of the celebrities who have voiced their opinion in support of Amber Heard.
List Of All The Celebrities Who Are Supporting Amber Heard In The Defamation Trial
Kathy Griffin
Kathy Griffin, 61, supported Amber Heard after the actress took to Twitter to support her after Heard posted that she will be taking a hiatus from Instagram due to the defamation trial.
She commented on Heard's announcement: 'Oh, Doll. I'm thinking about you and sending all the love.'
Griffin, an Emmy-award-winning comedian and LGBQT activist, has also retweeted articles in support of Heard in the last few weeks.
The actor accused Depp fans of being 'obviously well funded' and organizing an online campaign against his ex-wife.
Howard Stern
Veteran shock jock Stern, 68, has never been the one to stay silent and openly came out agains Depp on his SiriusXM show in late April.
'He [Depp] figured, ''I'll put this on TV because I'm so persuasive and I'm so smart, and I'm such a wonderful guy... I will charm the pants off of America at the trial,'' Stern said.
'No you won't. This will not go well. It's not going well for you, it's not going well for her. It's not going well for anybody. You sound like two battling children. It's just coming off really badly.'
And he had more words for Depp, labelling him a narcissist for wanting the trial televised.
Ellen Barkin
Hollywood luminary Barkin, 68, dated Depp for a short period in the 1990s and testified against him in the court a few days back.
Jurors heard how Depp was a 'jealous, controlling man,' who had once thrown a wine bottle across a hotel room.
'Where are you going? Who are you going with? What did you do last night?' she claimed he would ask her constantly.
Depp hit back to the court that she held a grudge against him, ever since he had spurned her three decades ago.
Julia Fox
Julia Fox became a well-known name after her debut role in Uncut Gems. The model came to Heard's defence on Instagram.
'This is clearly a sick way of still controlling her life by suing her all over the world,' said the 32-year-old actress who briefly dated Kanye West, 44.
'Did she hit him? Yes. Was it abuse? No.
'You need to have power to be able to abuse it. She was 25. He clearly was always way more powerful including physically and financially.'
David Krumholtz
TV actor Krumholtz hit out at Depp over his drug and alcohol consumption, saying it turned men into 'monsters'.
In a series of Instagram posts he laid into Depp and, although he said she is not innocent, he concluded with: 'I believe Amber Heard.'
Krumholtz worked with Heard on NBC's 2011 TV series The Playboy Club, in which Heard played a 'bunny girl' in 1960's Chicago.
'I worked with Amber Heard,' Krumholtz wrote. 'She is not psychotic. She is brilliant and strong and got caught up in b******t.
'She made a mistake. Why is Johnny suing her? Because he has not owned up to his raging addiction issues.'
Rachel Riley
Rachel Riley, British TV star who appeared on the show Countdown, tweeted: 'I wouldn't wish this guy on my worst enemy.'
Riley tweeted on the internet in which she shared a thread on Twitter threads about abusing relationships and Depp's association with reviled figures such as Marilyn Manson and Harvey Weinstein.
The defamation trial kicked off when Depp sued his ex-wife over her op-ed in which she indirectly accused him of domestic violence.
Depp's lawyers say he was defamed by the article even though it never mentioned his name, as it falsely portrayed him as a domestic abuser and cost him his lucrative film career, including the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie franchise.
Civil attorney Katherine Lizardo said Depp had a 'very unique personality,' and appeared genuine and smiled often, potentially making him appealing to the jury.
According to her, this friendly appearance has helped him win the battle for public opinion, with a petition of almost 4.3 million signatures demanding Heard be dropped from her role in Aquaman 2.
The list of actors on 'Team Depp' is quite long and definitely illustrious, with names such as Winona Ryder, with whom he stared in 1990's Edward Scissorhands, Javier Bardem, who formed a formidable cast of A-listers with Depp on 2017's Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge, and Chris Rock, who joked on stage that we should 'believe all women, just not Amber Heard'.
French actress Eva Green, 41, said: 'I have no doubt Johnny will emerge with his good name and wonderful heart revealed to the world, and life will be better than it ever was for him and his family.'
And Courtney Love posted a video to Instagram telling how Depp once saved her life by performing CPR when she had overdosed in a club.
Closing arguments for the trial will be heard on Friday after several weeks of allegations of drug abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and death threats.
