Man in hot water after forgetting wife at the roadside. The two had stopped for a toilet break when the husband drove off leaving his wife behind thinking she was asleep in the backseat.
There's winding up in the proverbial doghouse, and then there's this.
Christmas Day could not have gone worse for Amnuay Chaimoon, 49, who thought she was going to spend a pleasant day with family in her hometown in the province of Maha Sarakham.
Instead, she found herself at the side of the road without any means of communication with no option but to walk 12 miles to civilization.
Yikes.
According to the Thai news site Matichon, Amnuay had been traveling with her husband Boontom Chaimoon, 55, when he stopped at a roadside to relieve himself.
After asking why he didn't stop at the earlier petrol station, she too slipped out of the other side of the car to relieve herself.
Being 3AM at night, Boontom did not realise that Amnuay was not in the car when he sped off towards her hometown Maha Sarakham.
When Amnuay returned, she found the vehicle and her husband gone.
After realising she did not have any belongings, she decided her only way out was to start walking towards civilization.
She walked 12 and a half miles before finally reaching Kabin Buri by 5am.
The police tried to reach out to the husband but were unable to contact him until 8am.
The husband finally picked up the phone but was now 160km ahead oblivious to the fact that his wife was in fact not asleep in the back as he presumed.
After speeding back to Kabin Buri, the couple was reunited. The two have been married for 27 years and have a 26-year-old son.
Facebook users were quick to make fun of the situation saying, "Now he wont forget the trip for the rest of his life."
A second added: "That's his last pee of his life."
While a third commented: "It's time to rethink your marriage...or rather who you married."
Well, he'll never live that one down.
