A video posted on social media captures a person in a high-visibility jacket unabashedly wetting the spot where a homeless individual had set up camp.

The footage, recorded on Saturday night on Victoria Street in London, depicts a crowd becoming incensed as the man's possessions are entirely soaked.

While others can be heard calling the scenario "outrageous" and "bang out of order," another security guard can be seen trying to stop filming.

Since then, McDonald's has expressed regret for the event that surfaced on X today and stated that the employees—who were hired through a third party—have already been kicked out of the restaurant.

The security guards were working next door at the McDonald's where the homeless man was sitting outside a Nationwide bank branch.

The homeless man is seen in the video attempting to get his duvet and sleeping bag out of the way of the seeping water underneath.

As his items were pushed aside, he was heard saying, "Leave me alone."

While another employee tries to stop him, the man filming the incident manages to capture the ordeal.

You can hear the man with the camera saying, "I'm allowed to film." That is ludicrous behavior.

'You have to admit that is outrageous behavior. You've covered his sleeping bag! That's wrong and you know that. That is out of order. Bang out of order.'

The homeless man is asking the worker, "What have you done?" in the background as he becomes more and more upset. I'm not even outside of your store!

People quickly come together to support the man, with one person giving him money.

A security guy can be seen leaving the restaurant as the situation becomes more tense. He asks the homeless man, "Oy, why are you causing trouble?"

However, the audience quickly rises to his defense, with the man recording insisting, "What do you mean causing trouble?"

'The guy's just covered his sleeping bag in water. It's winter! That is outrageous.'

'You don't need to mop it all over him', a woman then says in the background.

After sharing the video on X, Damon Evans tagged McDonald's and posed the following question: 'Do you think it is acceptable for your staff to soak the sleeping bags of homeless people in the middle of winter (or any other time of the year)?’

'Disgusting behavior. He wasn't even outside your premises.'

Since then, McDonald's UK has addressed the situation.

A representative informed MailOnline: 'We are shocked and saddened by this incident.’

'The third-party security guards involved have been permanently removed from our restaurants and the restaurant team has been reminded of the importance of treating all people with respect including vulnerable people both in the restaurant and within the wider community.’

'We would like to wholeheartedly apologize to the gentleman in the video and will work with the council to locate him and make amends, as part of our continued support for homelessness charities and organizations across London.'
