Meghan Markle Prepares Herself For "The Big Day", Says Goodbye To Social Media As She Deletes All Her Accounts

Starting Her Royal Journey

Meghan Markle is all set to start her royal journey with her Prince Charming as the couple will be exchanging their wedding vows in May. For Markle to become a part of the royal family she has to follow a certain set of rules, one of which is the soon to be royal bride has to delete her social media accounts, as the Royals are not allowed to keep social media accounts.

It has been confirmed by Kensington Palace that Meghan Markle has closed all her social media accounts that would include the former actresses Twitter, Instagram and Facebook account with around 350,000 followers on Twitter, 800,000 likes on her Facebook page and around 3 million followers on Instagram.

Statement Released By The Kensington Palace

The Palace said, "She was grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years but had closed them as she has not used these accounts for some time." According to the rule, only the senior members of the monarchy have official Instagram and Twitter accounts and these accounts are run by the social media teams of their household and the posts normally do not include any personal matter.

However, the exception here is Duke Of York, who often tweets himself but signs them AY.

Goodbye Note To Fans

In April last year, Meghan shut down her lifestyle website "The Tig" which she described as "Hub for the discerning palate—those with a hunger for food, travel, fashion & beauty." Before shutting down her website, Markle also posted a goodbye note to her fans, "After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it's time to say goodbye to The Tig. What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun, and frivolity. You've made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy. Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being "the change you wish to see in the world."

The Suits star, concluded her post with words of motivation for her fans, "Above all, don't ever forget your worth - as I've told you time and time again: you, my sweet friend, you are enough."

Big Announcement

The news of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry came out on November 27. The big announcement was made via Twitter, which stated, "The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course. His Royal Highness and Miss Marke became engaged in London earlier this month. The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace."

No Social Media Life After Marriage

After the marriage, Meghan Markle will come to Kenninsghton Palace and her social media postings will be made on behalf of the communication staff of the Palace. Kensington Palace has also confirmed that after the marriage Markle will also give up on her charity work with United Nations. Also giving up her role as a patron to organizations like One Young World and World Vision Canada.

Apart from leaving her social media life, Markle also has to make a number of changes in her life so that she can fit in the royal family. Following this, the renowned philanthropist, actress, blogger and fashion designer would have to give up on her philanthropy work and her career as an actor, fashion designer and blogger and live her life in accordance with the rules set by the Royal Family.
