Turbulence is one of the hardest things for both mathematicians and scientists to understand. For years, people have struggled to understand this complicated phenomenon. What they do know is that the concept of fluid dynamics is unique in the fact that it has frequent property changes. While scientists are still scratching their heads, it seems that Van Gogh understood this idea over 100 years ago!

Now, scientists have begun to analyze Van Gogh's work, and discovered that the man had a thorough grasp on the notion when he painted ‘Starry Night.' That in itself is simply astounding, since he had no formal education and, from what we know, was not a man of science or logic. It just goes to show that, in the battle of science and art, there are times when art will always win.
