Hannah Mongie and Kayden Whitney became pregnant in 2015 and the young parents were excited with the prospect of bringing a child into the world. But fate certainly had other plans for the young couple. Keeping the best interest of her son Taggart, Mongie decided to give up her child for adoption. Before giving up her son, Mongie made a 45-minute long video in the hospital room, so that Taggart in future does not question his parents love and knows the reason why they gave him up.
Mom Records A Heartbreaking Message For New Born Son Before Putting Him Up For Adoption
#1 Decision Made For The Sake Of Child's Future
Hannah Mongie made the toughest decision of her life when she was 18-years old. Two years ago the young mother decided to give up her son for adoption. Mongie made a video before giving her son up, the reason she explains is that the young mother wants her child to understand when he grows up he knows the reason his parents give him up was purely out of love.
#2 Heartbroken Mother
At the beginning of the video, the teary-eyed mother says, "I made this video, so you know how much I love you. I wanted to tell you why I made the decision to place you with your family. Gosh, you’re so cute, you’re making this hard!"
Continuing with her message, the heartbroken mother says, "This video was created so that he would be able to look back and know that this decision was made purely out of love for him. He will never have to think that I ‘gave him up’ or that I did not love him. He will always be able to know that I loved him more than anyone else in this world. Right now, is the last hour of those two days before I send you off to Brad and Emily and then you’re going to be their little boy and I just want you to know that I really love you so much. More than I’ve ever loved any other human in the whole world."
#3 Losing The Father Of Her Child
Hannah Mongie and Kayden Whitney were ecstatic when they learned that they were pregnant. The proud parents were excited to welcome their child into the world and even started preparations for it. However, fate was not with them and only two days after hearing his son's heartbeat Kayden died because of natural causes.
#4 Dealing With The Loss
The loss of her partner broke her heart and Mongie couldn't deal with the heartbreak. "I didn’t get out of bed for two months after Kaden’s death. And I most certainly was not going to even think of the word ‘adoption’! That was not going to be an option for me because Taggart was my last piece of Kaden."
#5 Made Peace With The Decision
Mongie also revealed that while Kaden was alive the young parents have decided to give up their baby for adoption owing to the fact they were young with no college degree and work experience. According to Mongie, they made peace with the plan. "We were both young with little to no college or work experience, so we decided together to choose an adoption plan. We both felt an immense amount of peace about it, so we started to look at families."
#6 Having Change Of Heart
However as the pregnancy was coming to end, Mongie started to have a change of heart, already lost her love to death, she wanted to give her child a chance to live, "Over time. I learned that Tagg was his own person. He was not his father, and he needed a chance at the life he deserved."
#7 Allowing Herself To Break Down
But Mongie couldn't ignore the reality and she decided to go for the initial plan. After the birth of her child, Mongie asked the nurses to leave her with her child for 45 minutes, as she wanted to record the video, "I was just determined that Tagg was going to see this someday." While recording the video, Mongie allowed her emotions to take over her, "I just allowed myself to break down."
#8 Taggart's New Family!
In her video, Mongie also praises Taggart's new parents, teary-eyed mother says in the video, "I fell in love with them and they were beyond anything I could have asked for. And I have really, really high standards for anyone who is going to raise my child."
#9 Happy With Her Decision
Its been's two years since Mongie made the tough decision but there is not a single moment where she regrets it. The Marshes who have adopted Taggart lives 10 minutes away from her home and over the past years, the Marsh family has made sure that she is part of her child's life and she even meets Taggart every week.
#10 I Adopted The Family
Giving an interview to a local TV station on January 8, Mognie now says, "Rather than ‘giving up’ or ‘away,’ I just adopted his entire family into mine. Including his extended family. His mom, Emily, is still one of my best friends in the whole world. She honestly is everything I want to be as a person and a mother. I am so grateful that Tagg led me to her and their family. They are a blessing alone. And with Tagg, they are everything I need."
