The Kayabukiya Tavern in Utsunomiya, Japan, employed and trained, two actual Fukuchan Monkeys by the names of Yat-chan and Fuku-chan to work as servers and entertain guests. As cute as that sounds, the owner also made them wear horribly creepy human masks that could ruin anyone's appetite. One is a male, the other a female monkey.

Any human server who jumped up on the table and clung onto diners, would be fire, but these two monkeys are encouraged to perform for the eaters at this restaurant.

The monkeys are both trained to carry out bowls of rice with chicken and tofu with meat. They also have learned to bring hor towels to patrons after each meal is complete.

Restaurant owner, and trainer, known only as Mamma-san, believes the gimmick is crowd pleaser and a draw to tourists who want to see monkeys deliverin food and working like humans.

If you believe that seeing a couple of monkeys in goofy costumes would be a swell idea. No, it isn't. It is advertised in both English and Japanese as a Cosplay event, but it is not.
